Navigating Roma Termini was wild!
More ticketing en italiano fiascos for these inglese speakers, but after a few tries (and one or two pleas for help), we got our train tickets back to Firenze. Yeehaw!

When we arrived, we hit the ground running.
🚆 Arrived in Florence
The train went over 150 mph, so our ride was only about an hour (compared to 4 hours by bus).
🔑 Picked up rental car
Pickup at Sixt, Firenze S. M. Novella.
🚗 Dropped stuff at the Airbnb
We stayed in a restored cottage called Il Vichiaccio, adjacent to a vineyard!
🍕 Drove to the Rehersal Dinner
Boldly thinking the parking situation in Florence would be similar to the US, we realized that the garages close to our destination were reserved for cab drivers. Ack!
Bethany bravely piloted our rental car through the narrow streets of the city and even managed to drive us all the way up to the Santa Croce on our way back out!-? ACK!
Comfortable with these sort of traveling missteps at this point, our gang calmly found parking OUTSIDE of the city center and accepted a slightly longer walk 🤣

Our house could not have been more charming if it tried.
🐈 It came with a friendly cat named Boosie (!), a hot tub overlooking a vineyard, and a wonderful host named Beatrice.

Reunited with family in Florence!
Madeleine and Liam (bride & groom) at the rehearsal dinner 😍

Hot Rod 🔥🔥
After our adventure into Florence for the rehearsal dinner, we stuck to the backroads.
The Wedding
The venue was a castle, complete with views of rolling hills and—you guessed it—more vineyards! The highlight of the evening was the dessert assembled by the happy couple, to the song, “Felicitá,” by Al Bano and Romina Power. It was a millefoglie, a cake consisting of layers of flaky pastry and custard topped with fresh berries.

Well, thanks for coming along for the ride! 🕺🪩
